Rallies are said to be the 'backbone of the Pony Club'.
A Rally is normally open to all bembers of the Branch, with learning and activities tailored to suit different age groups and levels of ability. It usually involves some time in the saddle (instruction and mounted games) as well as out of the saddle (horse and pony care instruction, and study for Tests and Achievement Badges). A number of garda-vetted adult volunteers are onsite at each rally.
An occasional competitive rally may be arranged such as a gymkhana, dressage, mounted games or show jumping competition at which prizes are given.
There are lots of fun activites at Rallies i.e. Musical Ride, where members ride in rhythm with music. Riders must consider others in the ride, and work as part of a team. This activity is suitable for all ponies, all members, all ages.
